I had my first-ever encounter with a difficult problem on the iMac at work. I was just getting started in the morning and a black screen rolled down and commanded me to restart the mac immediately in four different languages. So I did. However, the Mac steered me into a continuous reboot loop.
The startup sound, the infamous BONG that signals the magic Mac is now turned on, plays and the Mac Apple screen comes on. You think the startup is going to start fine until the screen turns black again. After a half-second, it’s trying to boot up again. Terror flowed like ice water through my veins. My almost-finished catalog, all of my manufacturer hi-res images, and my promo e-mail files are irreplaceable if something were to happen to the hard drive. Continue reading
